Dear Spartan Families,

Here are a few pictures and highlights of the last two weeks. It is truly amazing how fast things go once we hit the month of May! We have been busy, and there have been a lot of wonderful moments shared among the students and in our classrooms.
Please continue reading to learn more about Field Day and the SMMAS Summer Fun and Learning Program.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After-school care is available on June 10th and 11th. (There will be no After School Program on June 12th.)

June 4th, 2026 - Voting Day @ SMMAS!
Twenty-two students from grades 4-7 gave speeches to the upper grade classes and outlined their goals and vision to be part of the 2026-2027 Student Council.
We are so proud of the students' willingness to say "yes" to this challenge and put themselves out there to lead by example.

This week was all about our 8th Graders! As a school, we sent them off in style...cheering for them as they walked the halls for the last time.

We are happy to announce a new End of Year Event that we hope will become a tradition for SMMAS students.
Field Day 2026 will be held on Thursday, June 11th @ Lomita Park!
Here are some important highlights and details:
  • June 11th is a half day; all students will report to campus at 7:45 am.
  • Teachers, staff, and chaperones will walk to Lomita Park; the goal is to leave by 8:30, staggering classes and walking on sidewalks on both sides of the street.
  • Students will be organized into 10 teams; each team will have students from all grades.
  • Teams will be assigned a color, and we ask students to wear a t-shirt of that color (no need to buy - whatever they have already!)
  • There will be 5 activities (stations) that the students will rotate through from 9:15 am-11:30 am. Students will also have a break with a snack and water.
  • By 11:45 am, classes will start walking back to the school.
  • TK/K/1 classes will be picked up at Lomita Park between 12:00 and 12:30 pm. (*Siblings will be walking back to school. You can pick them up in their classrooms.)
  • If you are unable to pick up your TK/K/1 student at Lomita Park, teachers and staff will walk students back to campus at 12:30 pm.
  • Rainy Day pick up at SMMAS; please park and pick up your students in their classrooms.
