SMMAS Weekly News May 4 - 8, 2026

Dear Spartan Families,
Welcome to May...where things get busy, and memories are made! There is a lot on the calendar this month so if you have not subscribed to our calendar, click here to get started.
This past weekend SMMAS hosted the Wild West Casino Night in Hegarty Hall and it was a great event filled with music, yummy BBQ, raffles, and more! It was so special to see our school families, alumni, and parishioners come together to support the school. It is clear that St. Margaret Mary Alacoque School is loved by many. A big thank you goes out to the Casino Night Committee who put in countless hours to make this event a fun night for all: Cristina A., Rosa A., Lisa A., Blanca E, Katy G., Greg H., Yvette J., Stepha J., Cindy R., Marrissa and Mario Z. We appreciate you!BREAKING NEWS: The Gift Card Gold Rush was a huge success, and we are so grateful for the support from all our classes. We were able to create 118 balloons for the Balloon Pop Game at Casino Night!
And the winning classes...
1st Place: KINDERGARTEN (Free Dress, Extra Recess, No Homework)
2nd Place: 7th Grade (Free Dress and Treat)
3rd Place: 5th Grade (Free Dress)
We have designated May 13th as the day to celebrate these winning classes!
A new tradition is born! Thanks to the Castillo Family, we now have an altar to honor Mary. All students are invited to bring a flower to school tomorrow to honor our Mother and create a beautiful altar for our school community. This is a simple request - students can bring a flower from their garden to add to one of the vases on the altar. It is not a mandatory requirement; it is a simple ask of the students, staff, faculty, and families to bring a single flower (or a bunch) to create a sacred space for reflection within our building...and honor the Mother of our Church. Students may bring flowers to school Tuesday- Friday this week. On Friday, each class will present a bouquet to the altar inside the Church before the May Crowning Mass. Thank you for your faithful participation. Re-enrollment for 2026-2027 for current families is officially underway! Securing your child's place in their classroom allows us to better plan for the upcoming year.
New for 2026-27:
- Flexible Payment Plans: Choose between a 10-month or 12-month schedule.
- SCRIP Changes: While gift cards will still be available to support the school, SCRIP is no longer a mandatory annual fundraiser.
- Yearbooks Included: To streamline the end of the year, one yearbook per student is now included in the General Fees.
NOTE: Please check your email for May 1st, 2026; Father Long sent communication regarding an update to registration information. Beginning May 12th, the re-registration fee will increase from $75 to $125. All families are encouraged to take advantage of the current rate by completing the re-registration process through Gradelink to take advantage of the current rate.
