Middle School Experience (6th – 8th Grade)

Our Middle School program bridges elementary foundation with high school readiness, combining academic rigor with faith formation during crucial adolescent years.


Subject-Area Departmentalization (Trading Classes)

To prepare students for high school expectations and promote independence, our middle school utilizes a departmentalized schedule. Students transition between specialized subject teachers who hold expertise in their specific academic discipline:

  • Literature & Reading: Deep dive into classic and modern literature, poetry, character analysis, themes, and critical textual evidence.

  • English Language Arts (ELA) & Writing: Intensive focus on advanced grammar, formal essay composition, research methodologies, and public speaking skills.

  • Mathematics: Vertically aligned path from foundational 6th-grade math concepts through Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1, developing logical reasoning and abstract problem-solving skills.

  • Science: Interactive laboratory investigations and STEM inquiry covering Earth & Space Science (6th), Life Science (7th), and Physical Science (8th).

  • Social Studies: Exploration of Ancient Civilizations (6th), World History & Geography (7th), and United States History & Civics (8th).

  • Religion & Faith Formation: Rooted in Catholic scripture, Church teachings, Catholic Social Teaching, moral decision-making, prayer life, and preparation for servant leadership.
